Dr. Milton Helpern, Chief Medical Examiner of the City of New York

April 26, 2013

TECEANT COLLOQUIA. EFFUGIAT RISUS. HIC LOCUS EST UBI MORS GAUDET SUCCURRERE VITAE.

(“Let conversation cease. Let laughter flee. This is the place where death delights to help the living.”) — Inscription on marble wall of Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, City of New York

I have recently been reading, “Where Death Delights”, a biography of sorts about Dr. Milton Helpern and Forensic Medicine. Dr. Helpern looked into Tess’ murder so many years ago and discovered evidence that may yet prove to be important in solving the case. Very interesting input – especially with regard to the significant, unnecessary violence involved.
